If you have full lips, muted lip colours or matte will make your lips appear smaller. Bright, glossy
or light colours are not for you. In order to make your lips look smaller, apply a thin coat of
foundation along your natural lip line and dust on a little face powder around the lip area.
Apply a fairly thick lip line inside the natural lip line and you are almost done. Just before
applying lip colour, soften the line with a lip brush.
If you have thin lips, then choose bright or strong colours for your lips. Better still,
apply lip-gloss over your lipstick. Dull, dark or matte colors would not suit you. Concealers
will help you to cover your lip line. First powder lightly; then using a lip liner, line your lips
just a fraction outside your natural lip line. The new line should be thickened till the space between
the line and natural lip line is covered. After this fil it with lipstick. Umm, you are going to look great!
If you have medium sized lips then, the V-shape on your lips is very important for you. Define the
V-shape and the center bottom lip. Draw a line along the natural line. This line should be drawn from
the outer corners to meet the centerlines. These lines could be softened using a lip liner brush.
Now apply lipstick from the center, then to bottom lip sweeping colour from corner to corner.
Tips while applying lipstick - Use lip liners in order to prevent the colour from
spreading in areas surrounding the lips.
- Lip liners help in defining the shape.
- For a natural look use fine lip brushes to soften the lines of lip liner.
- Use slightly thicker lip brush for the precise and smooth application of lipstick and lip-gloss.
Protecting your lips It's very important to protect lips from sun, wind and cold. Use lip balms and moisturizers.
If your lips have got wrinkly then for a better look, use colour-rich moisturizing lipsticks and glosses, to diffuse the
light and soften creases. For longer lasting lip colour, cover your lips with foundation and concealers.
This would give an extra barrier for your lips.
Are your lips dry and chapped? Never lick your lips. Another common habit is biting
dead skin off the lips. Chewing on your lips is more popular than you might think. So how do you protect your
lips then?
Drink plenty of water to moisturize your lips from the inside. Cracked lips
could be a sign that your diet is low in Vitamin B. Take at least one Vitamin Becapsule a day.
Keep lips well lubricated at all times and this means at bedtime as well. Use a lip balm, vaseline or even butter.
A little bit of lip care goes a long way to attract all the attention without even trying for it.
And then sit back to watch a whole crowd vying with each other to smooch you.
